Miss Great Britain ‘On the go’: Amy Kitchingman

Amy Kitchingman is a Dubai-based TV and media personality who is widely populate being the TV host for Physique TV’s “On The Go”, a show that focuses on travelling and restaurant hopping while staying fit and healthy. She is also the former Miss Great Britain and placed 2nd runner up for Miss Tourism World.

This experience gave Amy a platform to realize her interpersonal skills and share her contagious energy with the audience. Amy is started her journey with degree in Media and Performing Arts later which went into specializing in Journalism and Broadcasting at the London Academy of Media.

Born in Leeds and raised in London, Amy is the brand ambassador and media influencer for the following huge brands such as Victoria Secret Sports, Oakley Eyewear, Hautletic,Puma and Talise Fitness.


Crunch Community, in conversation with Amy Kitchingman:

1 How did you get started with healthy living and the fitness journey?

I started being more conscious of my health and fitness whilst i was in University. This was the first time that i had to feed myself, rather than my parents cooking for me. After a short while i realised i had gained a lot a lot a lot weight because instead of eating varied nutritious meals i was eating junk. I made a quick change to my diet and really started understanding what was good for me and what wasn’t. And how foods could help not only balance my weight but help my skin, hair and give me more energy and to perform better at uni.

2 What motivates you to keep going?

I think at this point my healthy way of loving has become a normal lifestyle for me i don’t need that motivation anymore. It just habit. Especially when it come to foods. Training i sometimes need to think about why it is i dod what i do. and what motivates me there is that i want to look and feel my best always and training that but harder in the gym, will help me to get there.

3 What’s your daily routine? (focusing on the healthy things you do)

I wake up with a hot water and lemon, i have a egg breakfast (omelette/scrambled/ poached) and i hit the gym for 1hour/45mins. After that i go about my day having a healthy lunch (salad) and snacks (nuts and fruit) and i finish my day with a clean dinner.

4 Are you working towards a goal? What do you want to achieve in life?

I just want everyone to know that health and fitness is accessible to them. Its not just for pro athletes, body builders of people in magazines. Everyone deserves to have a health lifestyle and if i motivate one person then i feel happy with what i have set out to achieve.


5 Most people lose weight but don’t have the motivation to maintain it. So how do you keep yourself on track consistently?

Honestly my weight does go up and down. As a woman i think its pretty normal. But my size doesn’t fluctuate so much that its so noticeable. The reason i keep my weight somewhat steady is because of my nutrition. Even if i skip a few weeks of the gym i can still maintain because what i’m putting in my body is still clean and healthy.

6 If you were to give a tip to first timers who are afraid to make the leap to a healthy lifestyle, what would it be?

Just do it!!! You will kick yourself when you actually take that leap and wonder to yourself why didn’t i do it earlier. Your going to feel 100% better, your going to look healthier, and your going to start an amazing lifestyle that will introduce you to new people, where your constantly learning and improving and you can carry this through your whole life.

7 What are your plans for the second half of the year?

Well the first half of the year has flown by so i have a few things that i want to achieve before the year is out, so watch this space. Otherwise filming my TV show and focusing on a few personal goals too.

8 If you could only do one thing for the rest of your life what would it be:

Weight training!!! I love lifting weights and if i could do it for the rest of my life i would be a very happy girl!

9 Do you have an inspiration or role model you look up to, someone who keeps you going to stay fit?

There are so many people who inspire me in the fitness world. If it wasn’t for them maybe i wouldn’t have found fitness myself. But as for me staying fit…my fitness is for me. I don’t feel selfish saying that. I stay fit for myself and its what i want to do, for me. Not for anyone else. So its my self motivation that keeps me going!

10 How do you balance being fit while being a busy tv presenter?

Luckily for me working with physique tv i have the best job for balancing fitness with work. Im constantly active, exploring new diets, trends and fads. So i’m always on the go.
